Start with reading order
Columns become a sequence on smaller screens. Decide which information needs to come first, then keep the visual order and document order aligned so keyboard users can follow the same journey.
Test real content
Long headings, Arabic copy, language switching and zoom can expose layout problems. Check intermediate widths as well as common device sizes. Allow content to grow rather than forcing every section into a fixed height.
